Littérature, politique et religion en Afrique vandale

Textes réunis et édités par É. Wolff

This volume Littérature, politique et religion en Afrique vandale contains the papers given at the international conference held, under the same title, at the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre on 6 and 7 October 2014. They are presented by subject. The highly targeted topic of the conference has the consequence that the book possesses a strong unit. It provides a synthesis on Vandal Africa (439-533) that was missing.
Indeed is studied successively the political, religious and cultural situation of Vandal Africa. In the literary field, special emphasis is placed on Dracontius, certainly the greatest Latin author of Africa under Vandal domination, who, since the publication of his complete works in the Collection des Universités de France, is best appreciated at its true value.
If the book offers a solid synthesis of knowledge on Vandal Africa, it simultaneously opens to new interpretations, research paths, ideas. By these two aspects, it will interest all the specialists of late antiquity, regardless of their field.
