This volume Ausone en 2015: bilan et nouvelles perspectives contains the papers delivered at the international conference, held under the same title, at the University of Paris Nanterre on 8 and 9 October 2015. They all come from recognized specialists in the subject and are presented here in a thematic order. Although Ausonius has suffered for a long time from an unfavorable image, a reversal has rightly been made, and we now recognize him as a major author of the fourth century. In recent years, an abundance of publications has renewed the approach of his work. This situation invited us to draw up the results of Ausonian studies while opening up new perspectives. That’s what the conference was about, where many aspects of Ausonius’ life and production were discussed. The book offers a synthesis of knowledge on Ausonius, but it also proposes new interpretations, research paths, ideas. By these two aspects, it will interest all the specialists of late antiquity, regardless of their field.
